The Great Dr. Kilmer window

Details of the window

As with many of the Reclaimed Objects windows in our studio, the subject and composition of The Great Dr. Kilmer window work around the size and shape of several medicine bottles that have been cut apart and flattened. The window was originally going to feature Dr. Kilmer exclusively but upon researching the world of folk cures and remedies and finding several other medicine bottles, I decided to include a few more lively and strange images and cures. Beyond the strangeness of the cures (swamp root?) the promotion of the characters behind the cures is a fun peak back at the world of medicine from 1875 through the 1920's.
