The Prismatic Fans were designed and fabricated by studio member Kate Gakenheimer as part of her Fans series. The fans are created with found glass objects from serving plates or bowls that were flattened in the kiln.

The rest of the glass in the piece is traditional stained glass with areas of added painted and fired decorations.
