The Persian Baluch Rug Window is one of the most unique stained glass windows in existence. This commission for rug importer Mohr and McPherson of Cambridge, MA, is a literal interpretation of a Baluch rug. The original rug was photographed and the image projected to the size of the window and traced. The artwork of the design was drawn with calligraphy pens to recreate the "pixel" look of each weave of the rug. Each piece of glass has been sandblasted, fire polished, and painted and fired with colored enamel glass paints. Even the weave pattern of the rug has been sandblasted and painted into the back surface of each piece of glass. The window took close to 400 hours to create.
