Of all the pieces in the portrait series this window is the most experimental. The portrait itself is sandblasted onto the surface of a custom-made piece of dichroic glass. The dichroic coating transmits a blue color which changes to magenta at a 45 degree angle. The dichroic coating was applied to a piece of gold glass, producing a deep olive color when viewed straight on and a deep red color at a 45 degree angle. The shifting color serves as a metaphor in how we see people at different times or how they differ from our own perspective.

The all-jewel border gives the piece a sparkling and lush textural appearance.
