The Appleton Memorial window at Ascension Church in Ipswich, MA is a striking window and was a challenging and enjoyable restoration project. For many years the Church members thought the window was by the Tiffany studio, but after examination by Dr. James Yarnell of the LaFarge Catalogue Raissone the window is now considered to be a LaFarge. The window combines areas of fine detail with glass cut as small as 1/8" x 1/8" with as many as five layers in thickness of glass. The depth of translucency and vivid colors are artistically and spiritually inspirational.
