The Dragonfly window combines a Watertown, Massachusetts couple's love of dragons and gardening. The design, by Anna Johansson of our studio, is fabricated with a combination of machine rolled, opalescent and semi-opalescent glasses. Stamens of the flowers are painted and fired in the kiln. The body of the dragonfly is composed of several layers of iridescent and dichroic glasses that are fused together at 1200 degrees. The process of making and installing the window was featured on Dream House, a production of New England Cable News television network. The program aired on June 15, 2003.
