CLASSES

My next set of classes will start the third week of April 2024. I will again offer a Beginner I class on Monday and Thursday nights...limited to six students each so I can offer lots of much needed attention. It’s the best class to reinforce your skills if you have only taken one or two classes. Projects will be limited to 18 pieces so you will be able to finish.

Tuesday night will be Beginner PI, Photo Imaging on Glass. This class is open to mosaic artists as well, to make objects that can be used in their projects. The Photo Imaging class is an excellent class for folks who have taken Beginner I and now want to create a window with more advanced decorative patterns, text or images.

Wednesday night’s Makers Mayhem class will require a bit of experience so it will be open only to students who have taken several classes from me. I will pull out lots of nontraditional materials for students to use, chandelier prisms, found glass objects, remnants of old church windows and whatever crazy glass stuff I have collected over the years. It’s a really fun way to create something completely unique in the stained glass world. Students in the Makers Mayhem class can use any of the techniques they have used in previous projects as well including fusing and photo imaging.

To hold your space in a class, please either:

  1. send check payable to: Daniel Maher Stained Glass, 147 Sherman St-Front, Cambridge, MA 02140 with the class name and night in the memo line;

  2. use Venmo to @DMSG11 with the class name and night in the Note window, or

  3. pay by credit card by adding your course(s) to your cart (below).

Description:  The Photo Imaging class will focus on incorporating either photographic images or highly decorative patterns on glass that will be used in a stained glass project. The class will include some instruction on how to select images that will work in the process and how to prepare the sand blast resists. I have expanded the variety of sand blasting resists to include the making of both the Rayzist and Ikonics products. The class will explore the use of both glass paints and flashed glass in their projects. Students must have previously taken my Beginner I class. The first two classes are critical and not to be missed. Two extra or alternative days available to tack on to finish projects or use as flex time.
